Stretch Goal Achieved: Cogline/Rumor Coin!

Hi Shannara Fans,
What an exciting way to wake up this Saturday!
You helped unlock the Cogline/Rumor Stretch Goal!
I was hoping we would unlock it. I love coins and this one will be a great one. Who receives it? In short, all of you who ordered a tier will receive the Cogline/Rumor coin -- for free!
Why did we pick that coin to represent the stretch goal? Cogline is the point of view character in the first chapter of The Scions of Shannara. Without Cogline listening to Allanon and venturing into the Four Lands to find the scions of Shannara, there would be no story. The former Druid sets it all in motion. He's always been one of my favorites too. Therefore we wanted to feature him on the Marc Simonetti wrap-around cover as well as on the first coin.
And of course, we wanted Rumor to be on the flip side of Cogline's coin. What would Cogline be without his trusty moor cat!
Those of you who know the series well can guess what our Stretch Goal coin will be for The Druid of Shannara Kickstarter then, right? Which character opens that book? Can't wait to show that fan-favorite character off!
But I am getting ahead of myself. All of you who pledged to a tier will be receiving the Cogline/Rumor coin now. How can you get the other three coins -- the Par, Damson, and Allanon coins -- to complete your set? You will want to select the 3-Coin Set as an Add-On in early March! More on that later in the month.
For now though, let's celebrate unlocking the Cogline/Rumor stretch goal. Yay!

Marc Simonetti Completes INDOMITABLE Cover Art

This is just a quick update to share that Marc Simonetti has finished the cover artwork for Indomitable!
It is below. As as well as what it will look like on the book. Jair using his wishsong to create the illusion of Garet Jax! Or in this case, many Weapons Masters!
We are getting close to unlocking the stretch goal Cogline/Rumor coin! Be sure to share the Kickstarter link with those you think would like such a project.

We Funded! Because Of YOU! Here Is An Update With A Cool Photo!

Hi Shannara Backers,
Well, it is official. The Kickstarter for The Scions of Shannara Special Anniversary Edition has funded!
What does that mean? It means Terry and I are now on the hook to produce these gorgeous books and other merchandise items. We are excited. And it is all because of YOU. So THANK YOU from all of us!
And that's not all. After talking to Terry, he and I have lowered our expectations for the Stretch Goals. You can take a look at our edited Stretch Goal list on the Kickstarter. In short... we also just unlocked full color interiors for the S&N editions! Woo! And the next stretch goal is at $160K!
Now on to what I promised on a Facebook Live recently -- to share something unique once we funded the Kickstarter. Here I go:
When I learned that Terry was writing the chronological end of Shannara with The Last Druid, I wanted to give him a special gift to commemorate the day. Not just any gift. It had to be a great one. And it had to be tied to 40+ years of Terry writing Shannara. Not the easiest gift idea to come up with.
But then I did. I own an original Hildebrandt Brothers painting from The Sword of Shannara. It hangs in my office and I look at it every time I sit down to write. The reason I own it is a much longer story for another time. But needless to say, the Hildebrandt Brothers are a cornerstone foundation of Sword's release.
My idea? To bring Shannara full circle! To do this, I reached out to surviving brother Greg Hildebrandt to see if he'd paint a scene that has never been published. Greg agreed. He loved the idea. I gave him my thoughts on what would work best, a scene that I imagine could easily take place after the events of The Last Druid. Or not? And off he went to paint.
My wife Kristin and I gave Terry and Judine the painting during the holidays.
Here it is:
Terry doesn't own an original Hildebrandt painting so he seemed quite pleased with the gift. While this scene does not take place in The Last Druid -- so not a spoiler really for those of you worried about that sort of thing -- it is what this fan hopes happens in a possible Shannara future after that final book.

Hi Shannara Backers,
First, a quick note to say THANK YOU to all of you. Yesterday was a super fun day as you guys pledged to your tier. And watching your excitement on social media made me beam with pride at being a part of this extraordinary community. So THANK YOU!
Second, a lettered edition backer changed his pledged and picked a rare edition instead. This has opened back up the S&L LEATHER SCIONS & INDOMITABLE tier. So if you missed out on the lettered editions, this is your chance to change your pledge. Only one is there. First pledged, first gotten.
And lastly, I've received a lot of questions about how add-ons work and how monies can be given for them. If you know you want some or all of the BackerKit merch add-ons, you can add up the monies you will need for them and add those monies to your Kickstarter pledge. Those monies will then go toward the Kickstarter stretch goals, which is pretty cool. Ask online if you need help with how to do that!
Okay, back to work for me. I'm trying to upgrade Terry's website today and so far I haven't managed a single thing. Especially when all I want to do is take a nap. Ha!
