Hi Shannara Backers,
First, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Terry has a new blog on his website. You can read it HERE.
Just a quick update. Files are completely finished. We are going with a new printer who is also producing Grim Oak Press's Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams. We like what we've seen from them so far -- they do a lot of work for Easton Press, I guess -- and so far it looks like they will be faster than our previous printer. Fingers crossed on that front while we await a printing date. When I know, you'll know.
I took a new photo of three colossal cards from the Kickstarter. I sent this to Patrick Rothfuss and his minions, as they wanted to see what cool stuff we are up to. Deck of cards in the photo for size comparison, and there is some shine on the cards from an overhead light. Since I took the photo, I thought, "Hey, I might as well share it in an update."

An Update About the SCIONS Kickstarter

Hey Shannara Backers,
A quick update. A few things to share and I'll bullet point them for clarity:
Terry has finished signing the signature pages for Scions and Indomitable
I have received all of the art prints and all of the coins. I should be receiving the metal bookmarks today
The files for the books have been signed off by Terry. A huge checkmark
Files are going to our new printer Thursday after we get our quote estimate going tomorrow
When I have a printing date, I will share it here. When I have a binding date, I will share it here. I hope the new printer can be a bit faster than our previous one. Expect some kind of update on printing timeline next week
We will not announce The Druid of Shannara until this Scions Kickstarter is fulfilled
There you have it. A small update with what is going on. Moving slowly but surely. At least the files are done. Now it will be in the hands of the printer and the bindery! Hoping for a Q1 2022 delivery timeframe.

A Short Update: Coins & Prints Are In

Hi Shannara Backers,
A great day. We've received our coins and prints! Shades, they look awesome. I can't wait to get all of these to you. Of course, we can't do that until the books arrive, which should be sometime early next year. Terry is about to sign the signature pages for Indomitable -- he's already signed Scions signature pages -- and files for both books are going to the printer next week after one final round of proofing art placement.

Update & Child of Light

Hi Shannara Fans,
A quick update. The bookmarks have been ordered. The prints have been ordered. The coins have been ordered. Just waiting on those to arrive. I'll take pictures and post when they do. Should be about a month for all of them to arrive. Terry has signed the double-signed Russ Charpentier maps from the BackerKit store and Russ is shipping them now. Maybe even some of you have received them. Fingers crossed that's happened!
The final book files for Scions and Indomitable are ready and uploaded. No idea when the printer and bindery will be able to do their work but it is looking like February for the printer and probably late March for the bindery? Those are just guesses. Will get actual dates once the printer can see where in the queue we will fit. More on that when I know it too.
In other news, Child of Light, Terry's first fantasy novel in a brand-new series, publishes tomorrow. I think he takes the best of his Shannara, Landover, and Word/Void series and has created something unique and powerful. Today, I posted a video of him reading Chapter 1. Here is the link:

Giveaway & A New Marc Simonetti Painting

Hi Everyone,
I hope the summer is wrapping up for you nicely. The leaves are already changing color here in the Pacific Northwest. But I firmly refuse to drink pumpkin spice ANYTHING until at least October 1st. And maybe I'll just skip that and go straight to peppermint creamer. Yes, I think I will.
Anyway, today I'm writing with a quick update. Marc Simonetti has finished signing the signature pages for The Scions of Shannara and he's mailed them to Terry. I'm sure it will take Terry a while to get through them all. In the meantime, the Indomitable signature pages are heading to Marc next week after they are printed.
Not only that, but I'm working with the coin people to ensure our coins are beautiful. So far, I'm really excited about that. And the Simonetti portfolio files are about to go to the printer too. A lot going on!
And Russ Charpentier has already been busy shipping out the maps. The maps requiring double-signing with Terry though are on their way to Terry now. Once Russ gets them back, he will begin shipping those ones out too. Yay!
There's still no estimate when shipping will begin for all other items. Book files are about wrapped up, which is great news, so we'll be getting the books into the printing/binding queue in the next few weeks.
For today though, I want to share two things: one of Marc's interior paintings for Indomitable. I love it. It is below. Can you tell what it is? Dark. Moody. A place no one should want to go. Ever. Ha!
And second, my book The Tempered Steel of Antiquity Grey is published as an ebook as well as an Audible audiobook! Terry loved it so you might too.
